Irreecha is Thanksgiving holiday of the Oromo People in Ethiopia. The Oromo People celebrate Irreecha to thank Waaqa (God) for the blessings and mercies they have received throughout the previous year. The thanksgiving is celebrated at the sacred grounds of Hora Harsadi (Lake Harsadi), Bishoftu, Oromia. The Irreecha festival is celebrated every year at the beginning of Birraa (Spring), new season after the dark and rainy winter season.

Day 1: Addis to Debrezeit
Arrive at Bole international airport and meet and assist by ET-holidays representative then drive to Debre Zeit(45km), home to several crater lakes and a popular weekend getaway. The town lies within a circle of six crater lakes, makes it a very popular resort with a pleasant climate. Full day enjoy at the magnificent resort and visit the crater lakes. The kuriftu Resort and Spa is one of the few truly luxurious accommodations in Ethiopia.

Day 2: Full day at Debrezeit
Morning we walk to Lake Hora to attend Irreecha festival. The main celebration of Irreecha in October coincides with the end of the summer rainy season. In a ceremony a gathering of millions of Oromo will give thanks to Waaqaa (God) and ask for Nagaa (Peace), Finnaa (the development of mind and body), Walooma (togetherness or harmony), and Araaraa (Reconciliation). They also pay respect to the previous generations of Oromos who endured the odds and helped this colorful celebration sustain from generations to generations.
After lunch enjoy at the magnificent resort and visit some selected crater lakes.

Day 3: Drive back to Addis and city tour of Addis Ababa
After breakfast drive back to Addis Ababa. Depending on your arrival time, you will have Addis Ababa city tour. Addis Ababa sightseeing will include Mount Entoto for the panoramic view of Addis Ababa ,National museum: home for the oldest and famous hominid fossil ‘Lucy’, Trinity cathedral church, Ethnographic museum the then palace of Emperor Hailesillasie known as little Ethiopia and Merkato: the biggest open air market in East Africa. Along the way you will visit significant historical monument of Addis Ababa. Late in the afternoon have a farewell dinner at one of the best traditional restaurant then drive to the airport for flight back home.
